How do I use your search engine?

You can type your term into the Search Articles box on the top of any page and retrieve stories from TSC's extensive archives. We offer readers two options on our search page for looking up features on TheStreet.com: simple search and advanced search. Advanced search allows you to search by author, date range and ticker symbols, in addition to the normal text search.

How do I search by date?

Use the "date range" feature in advanced search. This allows you to select the dates within which you'd like to search.

How do I search by author?

Use the "author" feature in advanced search. This menu provides a list of reporters, columnists and other contributors. You can select the author whose work you're looking for.

How can I find more help for using your search engine?

What is My StockWatch?

Through My StockWatch you can monitor TheStreet.com and RealMoney headlines for up to 50 tickers in up to 5 StockWatches. Using My StockWatch you'll always know what TheStreet.com and RealMoney reporters and analysts are writing about the stocks you're watching. You'll also be able to search the archives for this information.

How do I use My StockWatch?

When you first want to use My StockWatch, click on the "Create your StockWatch" link found on the left side of any TheStreet.com or RealMoney page, near the search and quote lookup box. You can group your tickers together by sector, funds, etc. For example, you may want to monitor a group of technology stocks. Start by naming the StockWatch list "Technology" and then enter the tickers for the technology sector companies you wish to monitor. Click "Finish" to save the changes. You'll be taken to the Manage StockWatch page, where you can highlight your recently created StockWatch and click "View Results" to see all the recent headlines for that list. To add more StockWatches from the Manage StockWatch page, click "Create New." Then simply follow the directions above to name and enter tickers for your new StockWatch.

I've created My StockWatch, but I can't read the articles in the results page. Why?

My StockWatch lists articles from both TheStreet.com and RealMoney. It is possible that some of the articles in your results are from RealMoney. You need an active subscription or a free trial to gain access. Each article that requires a subscription is indicated by a . Click here to sign up for RealMoney.

How do I add more StockWatches?

To add a StockWatch, click the "Manage My StockWatch" on the left side of any TheStreet.com or RealMoney page near the search and quote lookup box. Once on the Manage StockWatch page, click "Create New." You can group your tickers together by sector, funds, etc. For example, you may want to monitor a group of technology stocks. Start by naming the StockWatch list "Technology" and then enter the tickers for the technology sector companies you wish to monitor. Click "Finish" to save the changes. You'll be taken to the Manage StockWatch page, where you can highlight your recently created StockWatch and click "View Results" to see all the recent headlines for that list.

How do I update one of My StockWatches? How do I delete or add tickers?

To update a StockWatch, click on the "Manage your StockWatch" link in the My StockWatch feature found on any TheStreet.com or RealMoney page, near the search and quote lookup box. From the Manage StockWatch page you can edit a StockWatch by selecting it from the list of your current StockWatches. This will bring you to a page where you can rename or add/delete tickers from that StockWatch. To add a ticker to a StockWatch, simply type a ticker or ticker(s) into the "Current Tickers" box and click the "Finish" button located at the bottom of the pop-up. To delete a ticker or ticker(s), highlight the ticker(s) you wish to delete and press delete on your keyboard. Then click "Finish" to save your changes.

How do I delete a StockWatch from my current StockWatches?

Click on the "Manage your StockWatch" link in the My StockWatch feature found on the left of any TheStreet.com or RealMoney page, near the search and quote lookup box. Select the StockWatch you wish to delete from the list. Click "Delete." You may delete one StockWatch at a time. Click "OK" at the prompt (you will be asked if you are sure you want to delete the StockWatch).

How many stocks can I save in My StockWatch?

You can monitor up to fifty stocks (tickers) in each of your StockWatch(es).

How many StockWatches can I create?

You may create up to five StockWatches.

Can I change the order of the tickers in my StockWatch(es)?

Yes. The order of the tickers is displayed exactly in the order that you entered them. If you would like to change the order, begin by clicking on the "Manage your StockWatch" link in the My StockWatch feature found on any TheStreet.com or RealMoney page near the search and quote lookup box. From the Manage StockWatch page you can edit a StockWatch by selecting it from the list of your current StockWatches. This will bring you to a page where you can add/delete tickers from that StockWatch. Add, delete and re-order the tickers listed in the "Current Tickers" box and click "Finish" to save your changes.

Why can't I find certain articles from last week in My StockWatch results page(s)?

My StockWatch automatically shows headline results for one day. To search further back in the archives for stories older than one day, simply type over the "1" shown in the textbox at the top of the StockWatch results page with the number of days back you wish to search. You may enter up to 999 days in this field.

My favorite reporter wrote about a company that I monitor in one of My StockWatches. Why can't I find her article in my results page(s)?

My StockWatch automatically shows headline results for one day. It is possible that the article you're thinking of is older than one day, so you may need to search further back. To do this, simply type over the "1" shown in the textbox at the top of the StockWatch results page with the number of days back you wish to search. You may enter up to 999 days in this field.

My StockWatch(es) always displays the headlines sorted by ticker. Can I sort chronologically?

Yes. Click the text link that says "Sort by Date" at the top of the results page. This will re-sort your results by date, showing the most recent headlines at the top. The results page defaults to sort by ticker.

Can I view results for more than one StockWatch at a time?

No. Currently, My StockWatch only shows results for one StockWatch at a time.
